Where member voices lead — join the Intersect Board.

The Intersect board elections officially get underway on September 1 with the opening of candidate registration, which will remain open until September 12th. Members can learn how to apply here.

The Intersect Board elections are a key step in Cardano’s governance journey. Following last year’s first full-scale elections, this vote continues to shape the trajectory of Intersect, a primary core members-based organisation for one of the world’s most innovative blockchains, Cardano.

Excitingly, this election brings with it an expansion in the number of member-held seats from two to four! We’re calling on passionate, dedicated members of the Cardano community to step forward as candidates for the Intersect Board of Directors, a fantastic opportunity for anyone who wants to help make a difference in how Intersect operates.

To provide members with a deeper understanding of the Board's role and its significance, we’ve created a brief video introduction.

What makes an ideal candidate

The Intersect board is seeking members who bring a diverse mix of perspectives, passion, and practical experience. While there’s no single profile, strong candidates often demonstrate the following qualities:

  • Visionary leadership: Ability to think strategically, anticipate trends, and guide Cardano’s long-term governance journey.
  • Governance experience: Background in DAOs, boards, or community leadership, with skills in collaboration and decision-making.
  • Commitment to decentralization: A strong belief in Cardano’s mission, keeping governance transparent and community-driven.
  • Global perspective: Awareness of Cardano’s diverse cultures and markets, ensuring broad representation in decision-making.
  • Technical understanding: While not required, the ability to engage with Cardano’s technical roadmap enhances discussions.

Above all, Intersect is seeking individuals who are collaborative, community-minded, and ready to dedicate their energy to empowering others to succeed.

Why your candidacy matters

The Board provides strategic oversight during one of the most exciting periods in Intersects development. With Cardano’s new constitutional governance framework taking shape, the Intersect Board will guide the organization that supports these transformative mechanisms. Your participation can help prove that decentralized, community-led governance can work effectively at scale.

As an Intersect board member, you'll have the opportunity to:

Shape strategic direction - guide Intersect's role in supporting Cardano's governance evolution and ensuring the organization effectively serves the community's needs.

Ensure democratic accountability - help maintain Intersect's commitment to transparency and member-driven decision making.

Support innovation - oversee initiatives that advance Cardano's development and adoption while working to maintain decentralization.

Bridge communities - connect different segments of the Cardano ecosystem—developers, entrepreneurs, researchers, and everyday users.

Build for the future - help establish precedents that could influence decentralized systems far beyond Cardano.

How to apply

Members who wish to stand as candidates must apply via the official form in the Members Area of the Intersect website. The form will be available as soon as applications open. In the meantime, the contents of the form are described on the Intersect knowledge base.

Recognizing Cardano's global nature, the application form will be available in multiple languages, including Spanish, Japanese, Sinhala, and Tamil, ensuring that language barriers don't prevent qualified candidates from participating. Translated descriptions are available now.
