So, without further ado, let’s get into the update!

Cardano’s roadmap in 2024: progress report

It’s no secret that in 2024, Cardano has been moving from strength to strength, focusing on scalability, interoperability, and sustainability. Throughout its evolution, the milestones set along the way have allowed Cardano to continue to set industry standards and promote decentralization for all users.

Earlier this week, we compiled a progress report on the Cardano roadmap, detailing each of the 5 development phases and highlighting the latest updates.

As well as the progress report, you will also find information on how to get involved and contribute to the design and rollout of Cardano’s governance.

Cardano’s constitution

Reminder: Register your candidacy to join the interim Constitutional Committee by June 10th!

As we move closer to on-chain governance, we’re excited to announce that we are facilitating the elections for the interim Constitutional Committee and encouraging applications to join it!

Plutus and Consensus working groups

Recently, IOG shared an update about the collaborations currently underway with us at Intersect, namely that their Plutus and Consensus teams have tech working groups under us.

The Plutus Technical working group focuses on developing and advancing Plutus, Cardano's smart contract execution platform. It will hold its second meeting on Tuesday, June 11th, at 14:00 UTC.

The Consensus team will host its first open meeting on Thursday, June 6th, at 14:30 UTC. The meeting will introduce UTXO-HD and the Peras workstream, improving Cardano's settlement time.

You can be involved in these meetings by signing up as an Intersect member here. You’ll receive an invite to the Discord server in the welcome email, where you'll find additional meeting links.

Community tooling and progress update

Take a look at our Intersect Grants page to find out more on funding opportunities - with Phase 2 of our Inclusion & Accessibility category now open!

  • Grants to support local events and meet-ups: These grants support community-led meet-ups that cover Intersect and Cardano’s governance. They are capped at 40, and we have currently awarded 10.
  • Inclusion and Accessibility Phase 2: Govtool and the Constitutional Committee Portal are foundational community tools supporting Cardano governance. To make these tools more accessible, Intersect is providing a grant to implement a tool that allows the Cardano community to participate in the translations and grants to translate the key selected languages. The interim constitution will also need to be translated. This will be considered separately.
  • Constitutional workshops: This is a reminder that this category will remain open to apply until Thursday, 13th June.

Proposal Discussion Forum

We are excited to announce that the WeDeliver team has successfully achieved Milestone 3 and delivered a fully functional Minimum Viable Product that includes all the user flows outlined in Milestone 1. This significant achievement underscores the team's dedication to meeting project deadlines and delivering high-quality work.

More to follow in upcoming reports, including demos and testing opportunities.

Governance tooling

GovTool is back online following a rebuild after the last SanchoNet reset! Get back to testing the latest governance features making their way to mainnet later this summer!

During rebuild, new features were added, including support for direct voter registration and voting on governance actions. In addition, an easier registration process for DReps and a comprehensive DRep directory for improved transparency and selection have been added!

SanchoNet Govtool participation dashboard is now available on participation.sanchogov.tools. From this dashboard, everyone can keep track of Govtool usage and participate in its testing.

And here are these week's updated SanchoNet stats:
