Applications open in March for committee members - what to know now
From March 30, 2026, any paid individual Intersect member can apply to stand in the 2026 Intersect committee elections. Applications close Friday, April 17, instructions below. 👇

 Why consider standing?

You're eligible. There are no barriers to entry. If you're a paid individual member, you can apply.

You believe in what Cardano stands for. Committees benefit from members who care deeply about Cardano’s mission to drive positive global change. If that resonates with you, your voice belongs in these committees.

You'll have real influence. Committees play a meaningful advisory role - shaping technical decisions, scrutinising budgets, and helping steer Cardano's future. Not just ceremonial, it’s substantive, considered work with real impact.

The experience is genuinely rewarding. Members who've served describe the work as ‘far more than administrative - it's been foundational,’ navigating the intersection of principle, interpretation, and community expectations with transparency and respect.

Your perspective matters. These elections are an opportunity to bring diverse cultural, professional, and linguistic voices into governance. Members who can engage non-English-speaking communities, for example, play a vital role in making Cardano's governance truly global and legitimate.

You'll be recognised for your time. Elected members receive a service reward of 500 ada per month, with an additional 500 ada for committee chairs.

 How to apply

  1. Log in to the Intersect member area.
  2. Navigate to the 'Voting events' section.
  3. Select the committee you wish to apply for.
  4. Submit your application before April 17. The earlier you submit, the more time you have to campaign.

 What’s new this year

Following a review of previous elections, several improvements have been introduced:

  • Applicants must confirm that they understand and accept the responsibilities of committee members before submitting their application.
  • During the voting period, voters can review each applicant’s participation in Intersect.
  • Administrators can see which eligible voters have not yet cast a vote. To support transparency, everyone can see who has voted, while individual voting choices remain confidential.

Applicants and voters are also encouraged to complete surveys to help improve future elections.

Meetings will be conducted in English; however, the application form will also be available in four other languages (Japanese, Spanish, French and Sinhala).
