Who's standing in the 2026 Constitutional Committee election?

All the candidates and how it works

Voting in the 2026 Constitutional Committee (CC) election runs from June 28 - July 23, 2026, at 21:45 UTC (following epoch boundary times). Ten candidates are standing for four seats. Delegated representatives (DReps) vote on a stake-weighted basis. This is your opportunity, as a DRep, to shape who will serve as Cardano's constitutional guardians for the next two years.

The Constitutional Committee reviews governance actions for compliance with the constitution. The constitution does not permit it to vote on actions that concern the committee directly (votes of no confidence and Update Committee actions). However, across the broad range of on-chain governance, CC members make decisions that affect how Cardano operates. The people elected now will carry that responsibility for two years.

Four seats are open. A DRep can vote for up to four candidates, and each selected candidate receives their full delegated voting power. Selections are not final until the window closes on July 23, so DReps can update them at any time, if they change their mind.

Marek Mahut (deliberative.cc) — Individual

With nearly a decade of building Cardano's technical foundations, Marek brings deep protocol knowledge alongside a long-standing interest in deliberative governance — how decisions earn legitimacy through process rather than outcome. Read their full proposal.

Gbiri Oluwaseun (Olokoji) — Individual

A governance practitioner with three years of DAO experience interpreting constitutional documents under real conditions, including ConstitutionDAO's post-hack wind-down. Within Cardano, Gbiri contributes to the Governance Incentive Working Group and the Constitution Amendment Workgroup. He is running to apply the constitution carefully, consistently, and with reasoning that the community can follow. Read their full proposal.

Philip DiSarro — Individual

A serving CC member seeking re-election, Philip brings direct experience of the role and a clear position: to prevent overreach in CC authority and ensure the committee interprets the constitution rather than extends it beyond its proper scope. Read their full proposal.

Ian Njuguna — Individual

Ian is standing on a deep alignment with Cardano's foundational vision of a global, decentralized economy. Read their full proposal.

Leandros BSP — Individual

Leandros holds strong views on the CC's proper role and is standing because he believes rigorous, principled constitutional governance is essential if Cardano is to mature into a trusted, hard-money system. Read their full proposal.

Asia Africa Cardano Coalition (AACC) — Consortium

A volunteer-led coalition of community leaders, developers, educators, and governance participants spanning Asia and Africa, the AACC seeks to bring underrepresented global perspectives into constitutional oversight. Several members participated in the Cardano Constitutional Convention. The consortium's work is grounded in real-world experience of financial inclusion, language accessibility, and socio-economic barriers to participation. Read their full proposal.

NexTrium Global Innovations Ltd — Organization

Building on governance literacy work in Lagos since 2024 — including DRep workshops, Catalyst mentorship, and supporting a delegate to the Constitutional Convention — NexTrium applies to contribute directly to the institution they have worked alongside. Their candidacy is grounded in a clear-eyed view of why decentralized governance that holds even its founders accountable matters. Read their full proposal.

Cardano Curia — Consortium

Elected via the December 2025 snap election to restore CC quorum at a moment of governance paralysis, Cardano Curia has since served through one of the most active periods in Cardano's governance history. Their five-member consortium spans five regions and brings continuity of institutional knowledge, established working relationships, and a record of transparent, publicly reasoned decision-making. They are seeking re-election based on a proven track record. Read their full proposal.
